AAFP Physician Accreditation This activity is reviewed for up to 12 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to the AMA PRA equivalent to the AMA PRA category 1 credit toward the AMA Physicians Recognition Award. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Tuition Cancellations Must be confirmed in writing and 10% of paid tuition processing fee will be assessed. No refunds will be made if cancellation is made after November 28, 2010 however 50% of tuition fee may be applied to a future MCE conferences.

*Community Acquired MRSA Infections - a. After this hour the audience will be able to identify infections caused by MRSA. b. After this hour the audience will be able to advise patients on ways to avoid recurring MRSA infections.

*Common Causes of Unilateral Cervical Lymphadenitis in Children - a. After this hour the audience will be able to identify cat scratch disease in children. b. After this hour the audience will be able to know the correct way to manage non-tuberculous lymphadenitis.

*Soft tissue infections involving the throat and neck - a. After this hour the audience will be able to know when peritonsillar infections should and should not be drained. b. After this hour the audience will be able to recognize the most common presentation of retropharyngeal infections in children.

* Interesting ID Cases - a. After this hour the audience will be able to identify some unique causes of potentially serious pediatric infections b. After this hour the audience will be able to recognize some important causes of pediatric rashes.

*Community Acquired Pneumonia in Children - a. After this hour the audience will be able to identify the most common causes of pediatric pneumonia’. b. After this hour the audience will be able to recognize the increasing frequency of complications in bacterial pneumonia.

*Herpes Simplex Infections in Children - a. After this hour the audience will be able to differentiate neonatal HSV lesions from other causes of skin vesicles. b. After this hour the audience will be able to manage common HSV infections in older children.

*Immunization update - 1. Address parents concerns about vaccines. 2. Provide appropriate information to assist families who are vaccine-averse. 3. Discuss recent additions to the vaccine schedule.

*Red Book Update - 1. Discuss safety of the rotavirus vaccine. 2. Explain current indications for the HPV vaccine. 3. Discuss current issues with influenza vaccine. 4. Review the data concerning Guillain-Barré Syndrome and meningococcal vaccine.

*Cases in Pediatric Gastroenteritis - 1. Identify likely etiologies of pediatric gastroenteritis based on epidemiology and clinical presentation. 2. Perform appropriate laboratory evaluations to diagnose the causes of pediatric gastroenteritis. 3. Provide appropriate treatment of different causes of pediatric gastroenteritis.

*Perinatal infections - 1. Indentify likely etiologies of perinatal infections based on history and physical information. 2. Perform appropriate laboratory evaluations to diagnose the causes of perinatal infections. 3. Provide appropriate treatment of different causes of pediatric gastroenteritis.

*HIV infection - 1. Identify which patients should be tested for HIV. 2. Explain how to manage a perinatally-HIV-exposed infant. 3. Perform appropriate counseling of HIV-infected adolescent.

*Hepatitis – A through E - 1. Identify which hepatitis virus is most likely responsible for clinical presentation based on epidemiological information. 2. Explain how to utilize available laboratory evaluations to diagnose the cause of hepatitis in their patients. 3. Provide appropriate treatment for patients with different types of hepatitis.

Disney Meal Plans - are NOT available when reserving the conference room rate. Meal plans can be purchased with an all inclusive vacation package through MCE Conferences.

Lodging Deposit - Two nights deposit must accompany your reservation. The balance of lodging payment, as well as any incidental charges, is due to the hotel upon check-out. The hotel accepts all major credit cards.

Lodging Cancellation - Per our lodging agreement these are the lodging cancellation terms and conditions:

Cancellation 60 days or more before arrival - you will receive full deposit

Cancellation 59-31 days before arrival - a one night deposit is forfeited

Cancellation 30 days or less before arrival no lodging refunds can be made. No-shows and early departures are considered a cancellation.
