The Angry, Red Eye in Primary Care
Objectives: 1) Discuss the techniques necessary in examining the eye in the primary and urgent care settings2) Identify at least three red eye conditions that can cause rapid blindness and require immediate referral to ophthalmology 3) Optimally diagnose patients with conjunctivitis, and employ effective treatment and management strategies, to avoid antibiotic resistance and to prevent an infectious epidemic 4) Optimally manage traumatic eye injuries, including corneal abrasions and chemical eye injuries
Eye Emergencies Not to Miss in Primary Care
Objectives: 1) Identify at least two eye emergencies that can cause rapid blindness or potentially threaten life, if not promptly detected 2) Describe the clinical features of various geriatric eye diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration, in order to identify patients at risk and refer them for appropriate management 3) Properly examine the eye using the ophthalmoscope to identify optic nerve diseases, such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and other underlying systemic conditions

Objectives: 1) Appreciate the epidemic of medical complexity presenting to a primary care practice 2) Recognize and categorize the syndromic nature of POTS, hypermobility, migraine variants and mast cell activation 3) Apply strategies to reduce symptom burden and improve function

Additional Lodging Information –
- Taxes: The Group Room Rates are subject to applicable sales and resort taxes, currently 12½%. There will be no mandatory resort or other fee levied on the sleeping rooms in addition to the Group Room Rate plus applicable taxes (unless required by law).
- Additional Adult Charge: Guest room rates are quoted as single or double occupancy. The charge for additional guests beyond double occupancy is $35.00 plus applicable tax per guest per night for adults 18 years and older.
- Occupancy: Maximum room occupancy is (5) guests.
Hotel Parking – Standard overnight self-parking is available to registered Guests for a fee that will be applied to their hotel folio upon check-out. All parking fees include applicable tax and are subject to change.
- Currently self-parking for overnight guests at Walt Disney World Resorts is complimentary; (previously $25 per night). with Valet parking rates available for $33 per night. All parking fees are subject to change based on the Hotel’s Discretion.
- Complimentary self-parking will be provided during the hours of the meeting for all local and off-site MCE Attendees.
Lodging Deposit – A Deposit of 1 Night + Tax is due at the time of booking. Balance is due to the resort upon arrival.
Lodging Cancellations – Terms and conditions as per MCE’s room agreement with the conference lodging venue:
- Should an attendee cancel a reservation, a refund of the deposit and/or cancellation fees will be in accordance with the Hotel’s general policy at that time (currently a refund is given if an individual’s reservation is
canceled at least five days before arrival). - No-shows and early departures are considered cancellations: No refunds will be issued.
All lodging cancellations must be made directly with the lodging venue. Please refer to your lodging confirmation for contact information and policies.

Our allotment for reduced room rates may sell out before this date. We urge you to secure your lodging reservation as early as possible.
